When Andrew and Sylvana Siegel started Payday Inc. in 1985, hardly any companies were "outsourcing" and most employers performed payroll functions manually. The few payroll service bureaus that existed in Albuquerque at the time were only equipped to provide payroll processing services to businesses with over 100 employees. Payday Inc. grew out of a need for a payroll service bureau capable of handling payroll for companies of all types and sizes. Through education and quality service, the Siegels won over local businesses one after the other, saving them valuable time and money by offering a service that is typically nonrevenue-generating for most companies. As outsourcing caught on and technology advanced, Payday Inc. converted clients to industry-leading software and embraced business trends with unique payroll solutions. In 1993, it added two new services —employee benefits administration and HR personnel leasing.
Today Payday Inc. has grown into New Mexico's largest independently owned payroll processing, human resources management and employee benefit firm. Over 1200 clients now enjoy Payday Inc.'s big firm experience and small firm attention. Highly trained accounting, programming, HR and payroll processing professionals team to meet the individual objectives of every client. Innovative procedural processes ensure complete, accurate and on time delivery of projects. The advantage of being local allows Payday Inc. quick response times and more personalized attention… the kind of service you would expect from The Ritz Carlton or Nordstrom. As a testament to building long-term client relationships, Payday Inc. still serves three out of its four original clients.
More than 50 employees receive paychecks from Payday Inc., and its divisions Health Insurance Solutions and Paceline Consulting Group. In 2009, New Mexico Business Weekly named Payday Inc. one of the "Best Places to Work."
Dedicated to advancing businesses, people and community, Payday Inc. supports numerous not-for-profit organizations, with an emphasis on youth and the economic future of Albuquerque. Industry affiliations include the Payroll Group and Independent Payroll Providers Association, where Sylvana recently served two terms as President.
